Available
A curated tea lover gift set bringing together an uncommon antique Minton cup and saucer, a complete cased set of six vintage English coffee bean spoons and a handmade wooden lidded box that can be used as a tea caddy. This collection combines antique, vintage and handmade craftsmanship in one gift, rather than presenting three mass-produced matching pieces. The early Minton porcelain forms the historical and collectible centrepiece, while the cased spoons and hand-carved wooden box create a complete tea-table experience. Set includes: 1 antique Minton cup and saucer, pattern A1436 1 cased set of 6 vintage EPNS coffee bean spoons 1 handmade oak and sycamore lidded box / tea caddy Antique Minton Cup & Saucer Made by Minton in Stoke, Staffordshire, this is an uncommon and highly collectible early cup and saucer dating to around 1850. The finely ribbed white porcelain is decorated with a turquoise enamel band, gilt detailing and gilt rims. Pattern number A1436. The diamond registration mark provides an important dating reference and adds to the historical and collector interest of the piece. The smaller proportions reflect the period when tea was considerably more expensive and was commonly served in smaller cups than those used today. Dimensions Cup height: 6.5 cm / 2.6 in Cup diameter: 6.5 cm / 2.6 in Saucer diameter: 13.5 cm / 5.3 in All measurements are approximate. The Minton cup and saucer is the principal antique component of the collection and gives the set considerably more historical and collectible value than a conventional modern tea gift. Vintage Cased Coffee Bean Spoons A complete set of six English EPNS coffee bean spoons in their original fitted case. The spoons have an Art Deco-style design with amber-coloured Bakelite-style coffee bean finials and date approximately to the 1920s–1940s. Dimensions Spoon length: 10.5 cm / 4.1 in Case: 15 × 15 × 2.5 cm / 5.9 × 5.9 × 1 in All measurements are approximate. The original fitted case has age-related wear and marks but has continued to protect the spoons. Handmade Wooden Tea Caddy / Lidded Box A hand-carved lidded box made from oak and sycamore. It can be used for storing loose tea, individually wrapped tea bags, jewellery or other small household items. The natural wood adds a handmade element and provides a warm contrast to the antique porcelain and silver-coloured spoons. Dimensions Height with lid: 9 cm / 3.5 in Height without lid: 5.5 cm / 2.2 in Width: 11 × 11.5 cm / 4.3 × 4.5 in All measurements are approximate. Condition Please examine the photographs carefully for the condition of all components. The spoon case shows age-related wear and marks. Please also review the photographs for the porcelain, gilt decoration, spoon surfaces and individual handmade details of the wooden box. The main reason to choose this set is the combination of three genuinely different forms of craftsmanship: an uncommon mid-19th-century Minton porcelain piece, a complete cased set of vintage English spoons and a hand-carved wooden object. Each part can stand on its own, but together they create a coherent tea collection spanning roughly 175 years of design and making. This set would suit a tea lover, Minton collector or someone who enjoys traditional afternoon tea, historical tableware and handmade objects. It can also make a distinctive birthday, anniversary, housewarming or Mother’s Day gift for someone who would appreciate a one-of-a-kind collection rather than a conventional gift box.
