A vintage square cut-glass whisky decanter with a large round fluted stopper and deep geometric decoration. Its large spherical stopper has deep vertical fluting, giving the decanter a strong traditional barware appearance. Details Product type: Whisky / spirits decanter Quantity: 1 decanter with stopper Material: Cut glass Maker: Unmarked / unknown Pattern: Unknown Colour: Clear Approximate period: Circa 1970s–1990s Shape: Square Decoration: Deep geometric leaf, spear and star cuts Stopper: Round fluted glass stopper Dimensions Height without stopper: approximately 17.5 cm / 6.9 in Height with stopper: approximately 23.5 cm / 9.25 in Width: approximately 11.5 cm / 4.5 in Please examine the photographs carefully for scale, condition, glass clarity, cut decoration and stopper fit. The square form and substantial cut decoration make this decanter suitable for whisky, bourbon, brandy or other spirits, while the clear geometric design also works well as display barware in a drinks cabinet or on a bar cart. The main value of this example is the combination of its heavy square form, deep reflective cutting and large matching ball stopper. The stopper itself is an important part of the design and gives the piece much of its visual character.
